Nan Tien Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere. It's located in Wollongong, a seaside city that lies between the Illawarra Escarpment and Pacific Ocean, roughly 50 miles (82 kilometres) south of Sydney. The temple is open to the public and also has a tea house restaurant that serves a wonderful oriental vegetarian lunch one day a week.
